Describe you as a couple in about 15 words or phrases  Really, the only thing you really need to know about us is that we are THOSE dog parents, love brunch, and we have matching Christmas jammies.

What is your story?  We met in August 2009 at Mascoutah Homecoming through our mutual friend, Chrissy. We went our separate ways, but our paths crossed again over New Year's Eve of 2010. The following year, we spoke on the phone nightly, since Andrew was in Pensacola, and I was at Mizzou. The night before Thanksgiving of 2011, Andrew and Emily's paths crossed once again in Mascoutah, and they've been together ever since. Our first two years were spent on highways and in airports, since we were long distance, but in November of 2013, I moved to Virginia Beach to be with Andrew. Two years, one round of work ups, and a 9 month deployment later, we're so excited to continue writing our love story!

Emily, What do you love most about your groom?  Andrew is the perfect mix of Tom Hanks, Phil Dunphy, Clark Griswold, and Buddy the Elf. He has the most genuine heart of anyone I have ever met, and his kindness knows no bounds. I love that when he is thinking, he pulls at his curls. I love that he pours his heart and soul into everything he does, at home and at work. I love that when he taught me how to drive a stick shift, he was calm and collected, even though I was (and remain) awful. I love that he sets multiple alarms in the morning so I can make it to work on time. I love that he carries our dog to bed almost every night, and I love that he does the same for me when I fall asleep on the couch at an incredibly early hour. But MOSTLY, I love that Andrew loves me despite all of the crazy antics I make him put up with, like matching Christmas pajamas, civil war battlefield tours, and driving all over Virginia Beach just so I could see the Jungle Book.

Andrew, What do you love most about your bride?  Emily is thoughtful, kind, and fiercely loyal to those she loves. She's witty, intelligent, and caring. I love that she wears her heart on her sleeve, and cries when she reads a story about a dog who needs to find a forever home, and then tries to convince me to adopt him. I love her for the fact that she is concerned about the baby rabbits under our deck, but also enjoys killing carpenter bees, and frequently tries to get Scout to chase the geese at the local park.

Describe your perfect Saturday together  Sleeping in, and snuggling with Scout in bed, followed by cooking breakfast together. A walk on the beach, or on one the many nature trails in Virginia Beach with Scout, and then a few drinks on the deck while dinner cooks on the grill. After dinner, a movie until one (or both!) of us falls asleep on the couch.

Emily fun fact  Emily once dressed up in a banana costume and ran around the streets of Charleston for one of her friend's thirtieth birthdays.

Andrew fun fact  Andrew once climbed a thirty-foot pine tree in a Buddy the Elf costume, and held on with one hand and caught a beer with the other... twice.
