St. Angela Merici / Forest Park / Old Hickory Golf Club

Describe you as a couple in about 15 words or phrases: tight-knit families, faith filled, love the outdoors and the water, quality time is most important

What is your story?: Nicholas and I first met shortly after I moved to Kirksville, MO to attend Truman State University. Nicholas and I were on the men's and women's cross country teams. The teams organized a yearly BBQ at Thousand Hills State Park with some sand volleyball and swimming in the lake. I was not able to stay for the whole BBQ because I was meeting up with some friends from St. Louis for dinner, but we found some time to introduce ourselves. Nicholas was a Junior and I was about to start my Freshman year as an Exercise Science major, just like Nicholas. For anyone who knows Nicholas, you are well aware of how astute he is with following up on previous conversations. A couple days after the BBQ goes by, I receive a friend request from Nicholas on Facebook with a message asking me how the first week of Exercise science classes were going. This sparked multiple messages sent between us and an exchange of phone numbers which lead up to Nicholas asking me to hang out. We first hung out at a park near Nicholas' house throwing a Frisbee around, followed by watching the Olympics. Nicholas and I continued to hang out multiple times, often going on walks around campus or Nicholas "helping" me with my Calculus homework. In just a few short weeks Nicholas knew he wanted to ask me out officially and did so on the day before my 19th birthday. Through our relationship, Nicholas and I have enjoyed cheering each other on during races, getting to know each other's families, spending time on the boat, Nicholas teaching me how to snow and water ski, and attending Mass together. We have had a long distance relationship several times since the beginning, from Kirksville, Milwaukee, and even Italy for a summer. We knew we wanted to be together no matter the distance. We are so excited to finally share a home together and not have to drive 45 mins across St. Louis to see each other!!

Anne, What do you love most about your Nicholas?: He just makes me feel special all the time, whether it's a smile across the room, a kiss on the cheek, Starburst study treats, or notes in my books during school or racing spikes in college for good luck!

Nicholas, What do you love most about your Anne?: Everything!

Describe your perfect Saturday together: Enjoying beautiful weather outside, whether on the boat, going for a run or walk, or attending a Cardinals game! We also really enjoy listening to live music at restaurants and free concerts around St. Louis.
